Project: Urban Green Systems Approach
01/09/2017 – 01/07/2020
Project description
Problem
The city is in transition to a sustainable city and that is partly due to climate change and demography. The urgency is mainly evident from flooded streets and houses, deaths of the elderly due to overheating, lung diseases due to pollution. New systems for roof gardens, facades, water management, air quality and other forms of greenery in the city are not sufficiently brought to the attention of students. Developments are happening quickly and it is almost impossible for teachers to follow the 'state of the art' developments.
Approach
- 19 companies, knowledge institutions and schools form a consortium.
- Startup Village is the location where the green test setups can be built.
- At this location, lecturers and students from various courses work integrally on knowledge questions from the field in the field of Urban Green.
Expected result
Education about Urban Green (written, visual material and practical assignments) for secondary vocational education and higher professional education that can be taught as teaching material by specialists from education and industry in the Startup Village and beyond.
