This Privacy Statement describes how Amsterdam Green Campus ('AGC') processes your personal data. This Privacy Statement applies to personal data that you provide to us or that we obtain via our website.
We may amend this Privacy Statement from time to time. The last amendments were made in July 2024.
- About Amsterdam Green Campus
Amsterdam Green Campus is responsible for the processing operations discussed in this Privacy Statement within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”). This means that Amsterdam Green Campus (hereinafter: AGC, 'we' or 'us') decides which personal data are processed, for what purpose and in what manner. AGC is responsible for the careful and proper processing of your personal data.

- What personal data do we process?
This Privacy Statement provides information about the processing of personal data within AGC. AGC only processes personal data during the recruitment of new employees, the organization of events and within projects. We also place cookies (if necessary after your permission).
We process, among other things, the following personal data of participants during events:
- Name;
- telephone number, email address;
- organization.
We process, among other things, the following personal data of visitors to our websites:
- website visits and click behaviour;
- IP address;
- duration and time of the visit to the website;
- use of social media.
- What do we process personal data for?
We process personal data for the purpose of our services. We must also comply with legal obligations for which we process your personal data.
- sending (by e-mail) newsletters, invitations to events and other (necessary) information from AGC;
The personal data provided by visitors to our websites are processed for the following purposes:
- compiling user statistics;
- securing and improving our websites; and
- improving our services.
- Basis for processing
In order to process your personal data, the processing must be based on one of the grounds from the GDPR.
- To whom does the UvA provide personal data?
The starting point is that your personal data will only be used by AGC. AGC does not share personal data with other parties.
- Your rights regarding personal data
If we process your personal data, you have the right under certain circumstances to view, correct, delete or limit it. You can also object or request transfer of your personal data. To make a request to us in this context, you can contact us via amsterdamgreencampus@uva.nl.
Inspection and correction: if you want to know whether we are processing your personal data correctly or if you want to adjust your personal data, you can contact us to view or correct your personal data.
Deletion: The GDPR provides the option to have personal data deleted under certain circumstances.
Restriction: You can contact us with a request to restrict the processing of your personal data if you believe that your personal data is incorrect, the processing thereof is unlawful, you need it for a legal claim or you have objected to the processing thereof.
Objection: If we process your personal data on the basis of a general or legitimate interest, you can object to further use of your personal data on the basis of your specific reasons.
Objection to communications: If you no longer wish to receive communications from us via email or other electronic communications, you may opt out by clicking on the unsubscribe link in any email message you receive. You may also opt out by contacting us.
- How do we protect your personal data?
We apply a strict (information) security policy to ensure that your data is protected against loss or any form of unlawful processing. To protect data, we take appropriate physical, technical and organizational measures. Your personal data can only be viewed internally by employees who need your data to properly implement the goals as described in paragraph 3 of this Privacy Statement. If we use third parties in the processing of personal data, we check whether that party has an adequate level of security.
If, despite the strict security, something does go wrong, we will resolve the incident as quickly as possible and take measures to prevent recurrence. We report data leaks that result in a risk to the rights and freedoms of data subjects to the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
- How long do we retain your personal data?
We do not store your personal data for longer than necessary for the purposes for which we use your personal data.
