First field tests in the POP-3 project 'Precision technological development in seed potatoes'.

Within the Amsterdam Green Campus' POP-3 project, we have been working together for a year now on a detection system to determine the net yield of seed potatoes per meter. Toon Tielen and Koen van Boheemen (WUR) are very optimistic: "We have now succeeded in testing an initial test setup on a potato harvester under practical conditions during the first potato harvest after the project began. The setup uses computer vision camera techniques to determine the required parameters of the harvested potatoes. The setup provides information about the net yield, the number of tubers, and the dimensions of the harvested potatoes, linked to GPS coordinates per linear meter."
