15 Mar Amsterdam Green Campus invests in 'Green Capital'
With the Green Capital program, the province of North Holland aims to strengthen nature and connect society more closely with it. AGC is collaborating with the province on a program to involve young people, schools, and research institutions in and outside North Holland in this initiative. The province aims to set a good example by managing large areas and (water)ways more responsibly. More nature promotes biodiversity and is of great value to society: it makes North Holland a more attractive province in which to live, work, and recreate. Nature offers space, peace, and relaxation. It makes our living environment attractive, healthy, sustainable, and economically competitive. This creates opportunities for new business models in the circular economy and the bio-based economy. Biodiversity is also crucial for (land-based) agriculture. In short, nature is "green capital." Do you have topics that lend themselves to research by students or scientists in this context?
